This is great news!! My question is if EVERYONE convicted is going to get 25 years without a doubt or if it will be like some other laws.

For example we have a one year manditory for all gun charges here in MA but if you have a clean record usually they seem to get some fines and a few years suspended sentence.

I think this is for sure a step in the right direction but I hope they stick to their guns with it.

I think this needs to become a country wide law not just something for florida and I hope it happens.

This law is going to create longer prison terms and no doubt will remove many pedophiles and rapists from the regular population ranks.

But, it's going to get more expensive for the government because the prison population will increase because of the longer prison terms.

The law amy also cause more victims to be killed because the offenders may want to make sure that their victims cannot identify them and cause them to be put away for such long periods of time.

I don't really agree Adorno.
These people are already killing their victims, one would assume to avoid going to prison for any length of time.
I don't think increasing the time will increase the likelyhood of a murder.

The most important thing is to keep these scum off the streets.
It will be more expensive because of the higher prison population but can you really put a price on keeping your children safe?
