baytech RPC41AD-30NC
Hi
I'm interested in the following remote reboot solution:
http://www.baytechdcd.com/cgi-privat...d=RPC41AD-30NC
I know, that this unit has SSH access, but can I create different user accounts and assign some ports? Are this user able to access the unit simultaniusly?
Has anyone any expirience with this units?
Thanks
Michael

Why not just write your own frontend as part of your site then just use 1 ssh acc to reboot the requested port?
I haven't used that unit b4 though just a thought.

That unit isn't such a great deal. I have used both APC and BayTech equipment and would reccomend APC over BayTech hands down. APCC has much better support and their equipment is just really solid.
BayTech on the other hand, while I cannot speak for all of their products, the couple of strips I am using now are somewhat flakey. Several ports on one of the strips that I just decommissioned would not work reliably and would cause the entire console unit to freeze up for several hours at a time when invoked for a reboot.

Hi Jeff
Thanks a lot, I checked the APC products too, but I did not find anything like this baytech unit. We need the following:
- 16 ports
- 2 x 230V imput
- 30 Ampere
- SSH Access
When you read here in the forum, there are some people which had some bad expirience with baytech products, but some are also very happy with...

2 x AP9211 or AP79xx series (if you want the more recent models) will suit your needs since each is 1U, eight ports, and rated at 15A. More solid equipment in my own opinion and will actually end up being a bit cheaper than the BayTech you're referencing.

eBay is a good place to get decent used equipment on the cheap.
