I currently run a few websites on a shared hosting provider, but I would like to run game servers too. I tallied it up and found that the cost of a dedicated server would be cheaper than the cost of buying a recongamer or some other companies shared package.
So I was looking at serverbeach... and they seemed good, but really expensive. Then I did a search and found their tech support was horrible. Then I went to 1and1, and they seemed ok, but then I did a search and found that their billing/sales was horrible.
What do you guys reccomend? I am going to be hosting...
-2 websites (and possibly 3 or 4 in the future)
-1 teamspeak server (with possibily two in the future)
-2 gaming servers (one private 10 man and one public ten man)
I would like the ability to upgrade the server (maybe add a harddrive or some ram) in the future. My budget is $70-90.
I'm not exactly sure of the specs.. probably a 60 gig drive would be fine, 512 MB memory to start (but I'd like to be able to upgrade the memory without having to buy a new server). I'd like to use Red Hat or Fedora Core linux, and I definatly want an unmanaged server. Plesk or Cpanel would both be good control panels.
I'll check out the offers section, but I wanted to know what kind of experience people have had. I thought SB and 1and1 would both be great, but based on what I've read here, it looks like looks can be deceiving.
