NAC server came with no apache?

I ordered another server from NAC/15minuteservers.com yesterday to shift one site off to in order to lower database load on another server. Since RH9 is no longer an available operating system, I went with what seemed closest, CentOS3.4. I also ordered DirectAdmin as I'm used to using that.

This morning I'm setting things up... install a firewall, change passwords, set up DNS... when I realize httpd isn't running. I try to start it, only to find there is no /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd. Maybe it's located somewhere else? I click the "start service" button in DirectAdmin and it tells me httpd is unrecognized. I check /usr/sbin where I usually find it and there's no httpd executable.

Is this normal? Does CentOS not come with Apache even though DA expects it?

NAC says: Bad DA install. We'll reinstall the OS and DA again.

    That's not right.
My Centos 3.4 box from NAC came with DA installed and Apache.
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd
    should be there.
I'm surprised DA installed with no Apache present as it's a pre-requisite. Check your NAC customer control panel which will show you all the build stages for you box and whether they have been completed. It doesn't sound fully built to me!

It was completed yesterday morning, I didn't have a chance to start setting up until today. My boss is working from home today so I can get away with working on that today and nobody noticing... now I've gotta hope they reinstall the OS and DA soon so I can start over.

On the up side, as usual, they responded to my ticket in less than 10 minutes.

Oh, and in the meantime, I'm crashing mysql tables every 2 hours on the existing server. Fun stuff

Maybe maybe not. Latest word from NAC is that DA's installer is not working (won't install PHP) and now THEY are waiting on a ticket with DA.

I guess I actually have to do some work today instead of play with my servers.

I think it was the DA installer. CentOS 3.4 does not come with GCC.

rpm --import http://urltocentos-3-key (find it on a CentOS mirror)
    yum install gcc

    then run the DA installer.
