How to find the webhost of a site
I didn't know where else to go to ask this question so that's why Im here.I need to find out who hosts a certain website that I wont mention here. But I don't know how to go about doing it.Any information anybody can give me will be appreciated. It's very important that I get in touch with this webhost so thanks in advance for any help.
You can go to
http://www.dnsstuff.com and to find which IP it use, and trying to reverse it, etc.. to that will maybe give you a tip from where it is hosted.
Or you can try to use that : http://www.whois.sc/reverse-ip/ and look which other domain that IP have
Hope that will help you.
You can also do a whois lookup for the domain and see the nameserver that the domain is pointing to.

Besides, you can use
http://www.netcraft.com , too.
is pretty useful, especially when you've coded a firefox extension for a quick right-clicking shortcut
<offtopic> Have you released it on the extension site? Sounds like a useful tool...</offtopic>
Anyway, if a site tries enough to hide who hosts them (like dedicated IP, custom nameservers, etc, etc) it would be possible to hide from (the average Internet) user who hosts the site.
If you think they will be honest with you, you can ask the owner who hosts them...
Thanks for all the quick responses to my question.i got the answer I needed. So thanks everybody
