Still Not Working
Hey there, I'm trying to set up BIND in Mandrake 10.1.
This is the error I get when restarting named:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
[root@localhost etc]# service named restart
Stopping named: rndc: connection to remote host closed
This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of
the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect,
or the key is invalid.
[ OK ]
Starting named: [ OK ]
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
But when I do a dig to my domain I just get connection timed out.
I've removed the '-' from the 'rndc-key' in /etc/named.conf (there is no rndc-key/rndckey in the /etc/rndc.conf)
When I try doing /script/fixndc I just get cannot find file or directory
Any other ideas?

Hi,
/scripts/fixndc
pico /etc/named.conf
Near the top of that file there are two entries that say rndc-key or rndckey
find the one with a dash and remove the dash so it's all one word then....
service named restart
That'll fix it
Moreover check to the url:

It will be helpful for the same.
