Use a proxy server to register with paypal & clickbank?
I couldn't find the answer to my thread question above. So I just
thought I'd post it.
It's my bad luck that both PayPal and Clickbank banned users in
my country (the Philippines) due to high incidents of fraud. But I'm
missing out a lot from US-based users, especially since my soon-
to-be-released ebook will cater mostly there.
I especially need something like Clickbank to use their affiliate
payment program, and PayPal because a lot of people use them.
I read somewhere that they trace registrations via IP address as
well, and use that to verify the address of those registering with
them. If that's true, I wonder if using a proxy service will help get
around this irritating stumbling block.
I found someone who's selling a service which provides a US
forwarding address for mailing purposes. So if I sign up with that
address forwarding service, I was wondering if there's a proxy
service which lets you access any site from a specific IP address.
For example, I sign up with that forwarding service and they give
me a Virginia-based address. Is there a proxy service which will
let me access from a supposedly Virginia-based IP address too?
Just thought I'd ask. But if it's not possible, that's okay, just trying
to explore options here.
Speaking of forwarding address, if you need one, let me know.
instead of a proxy, why don't you tunnel through your server via ssh, that is, if you have a server in a paypal-supported country.. that way your ip won't change and it won't be listed in any public proxy services. another plus is you won't have to pass any sensitive data through other people's servers.
Could this guy buy vps hosting account in the USA and configure the account so that all mail sent would be from USA, and configure so that he could surf thru this account for banking / business needs and have it show his ip# as being in the USA ?
