Registering your Name for a dot com
Would you say registering your First and last name
is a good idea?
how about just your first name, but put an I infront of it.
Like Ijohny or Icharlie OR what ever your first name is.
Yeah, shorter names firstlast.com is fine, but I don't want to see any
margaretteannejohanson.com cause stuff like that is just to long.
Maybe more like margjohanson.com would be fine.
But do you hyphenate it? or try to get your last name and subdomain your first name? Cause then you can host your family too...have like
well my last name is already registered.
so I cant do that.
reg what ever you want, it is cheap these days why not? First and Last name is always good for personal "stuff"
you may also try a .name domain...
otherwise with so many extensions.. i think you can find your name available in some extension..ofcourse if its not a very common name..
I registered my surname but .com, .net, and .org where taken by Finns so I went with .us. It's nice having a name domain to set up for family and friends. Occasionally people mess up and forget it's .us but it works fine almost all the time.
