traffic to signup conversion ratio associated with domain
I was just going to ask and see what kind of percentages other hosts are getting for a vistor-to-signup conversion ratio. Right now, my conversion ratio is probably around .2% or 2 out of every 1000 visitors will sign up. I know a couple other companies that are average about 1%. I was wondering what you guys were getting, what you think I could do to improve mine, and if you think it is partly due to our company name/domain.
The name UserUnfriendly was a name we used when we started as we thought we were going to head our company in a different direction. However, we have taken a different approach now to just normal webhosting. I know the domain attracts alot of attention, but do you guys think its hindering possibly signups? Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.
Yeah - I think we will have to update everything soon. It will be alot of work, but seems like it must be done. What about sign up conversion ratios. What kind of percentages are you guys getting? I want to know something to shoot for, for the company.
I don't think that turnover ratio is at all unusual; especially if you have a lot of existing clients visiting the site.
I would think about changing your name though; even though I'm sure you guys are pretty friendly (if you wanted to keep serious clients); I believe there's definately a sizable margin of clients that your company's image will turn off.
