    Namecheap is slooooooow

One thing that has always bugged me is how long domain registrations take to show upin the whois database after being registerd with Namecheap, I know this is an Enom thing but since Namecheap uses Enom this is their problem. I'm now sitting here 20 hours after a domain registration with my domains still not showing up in a whois lookup, GoDaddy usually takes 20 min for this so to me this is not acceptable what so ever.

Well with namecheap I've had domains where I've enabled whoisprotection and its gone through almost straight away. Of course I could of been lucky that it was when the db was reloading

enom is usually very consistent with times(namecheap resells for enom). Most names I see within 15 to 20 minutes

This is one reason why I tell people that despite the rapid DNS
update from Verisign, they should still expect it to take a little bit
longer. In many cases it's just a "propagation" issue (note the
quotation marks), things like that still happen.

If it takes longer than 48 hours, then it's time to be concerned.

Of course, it's not unreasonable to assume it takes only a short
while. But if that happens, more often than not, you can't force
the registrar to speed things up.

I haven't had any problems with Namecheap, although all my domains through them were transferred in from another eNom reseller.
