    Plesk Default Page Problem

    Hi,

I'm just setting up a plesk server. I finished domain.net and it is resolving and displaying normally, but when I add domain.com with the same IP, it is always the Plesk Default Page is being displayed.

I already checked the apache config and all the includes, removed the default index.html in the vhost/domain/httpdocs directory, the DNS entries are correct, I even checked it on DNS Report. I also checked the forums of Swsoft and found several of them have the same problem and tried one of the solutions, but to no avail..

I also preview the domain and it is displaying perfectly, then I also changed the default domain of the IP, and try checking via ip : http://xx.xx.xx.xx/ and it is also displaying properly... the only problem is via domain.com or www.domain.com

What do you think is the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

Both domains are using one IP. I just set it now to Exclusive, and still the same.

post your DNS settings here. I guess your DNS IP settings are wrong!

Has anyone been able to solve this?

domain.com works fine but www.domain.com shows the Plesk Default Page. Super strange. I tried starting and stopping plesk and that didn't work. @ and www are "A" records pointing to the same IP and the nameservers are working properly. The httpd.conf file looks fine to me.

I am going nuts here. I set up the domain like I setup all other domains that are working fine on the box.

Big thanks for any help with this.

there is an option to enable/disable "www" for your domain. have you checked that? www.yourdomain.com available in the zone records?

    Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, that is the thing that is drivign me nuts. It is checked... DNS is set correctly and the domain has propogated which is adding to the confusion. entries for "@" and "www" are pointing to the correct IP and correct IP is setup in Plesk.

    I've run:
/etc/init.d/psa stopall (then started it back up)
    /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -a
    stopped/started apache

I think I need to sleep on this one. I have to be missing something super simple.

Disable the domain for 5 mins and then activate it

Just to make sure - go into DNS on your domain and set it back to default.

    Regards,

I woke up this morning and it worked... super super strange.

Thanks for the tips though. I'll keep those in mine if this happens again *knocks on wood*

Actually I doubt it was propogation. It was properly the restart time for apache. A "service httpd restart" probably would have fixed it.

Sometimes it takes a little while for changes to be made once you create a new account or enable/disable it.

His apache restarted by itself at night and made it magically work in the morning? That's quite hard to believe...

PE-Steve how much have you worked with Plesk? You do realize it is on a timer for restarting apache right?
