Looking to start a small business..need a good devoted person who is skilled
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking to start a small business. I have alot of work for people that needs to be done and unfortunately I'm not as skilled as many of you are out there. However, I am pretty decent with photoshop and I am very good at keeping bookwork, records and maintaing websites. I have several jobs that require logos and banners to be done, and these jobs range anywhere from $25,$50-$100.
What's the catch:
Basically, I get the jobs, you do most of the work. Some of the jobs I can do myself, but mostly you will do. However, I will recieve a cut of the money that we do make once the business has started.
Why do you get the money when I do the work:
It's actually not that easy for me to get jobs, and it requires alot of persuading to get some big jobs. I will be doing all the book work, keeping all the clients names, contact addresses, and job inquiries at hand. I also will control all the emails, etc. I put about 1-2 hours of good hard work every other day searching for work. Basically, if I don't get the jobs, then you won't have any work. Therefore I will get about 50% of the money that we make per job.
Basically, I get about 6-7 jobs per week, totaling anywhere from $200-$500.
I currently maintain: scpremier15.com and I do everything to keep that site running including photos, videos, updates, etc. We get over 25,000 hits a month, and that number is currently growing.
I have some very good ideas in mind as I am looking to major in the business area in college and I want to start my own business. I believe that if I get the right person, or a few people to work for me, we can make this a very successful business.
If you are interested, please contact me as I am usually always available.
What your proposing, is that you surf the net looking for work for an hour or two every day. Your "partner" if you can even call him/her that will do all the work. And you will get 50% of the profit.
All due respect, but most anyone can look for jobs and keep a decent accounting book. Maybe if that figure of 50% was a little more balanced for the amount of work you would be doing, then I would take you a little more serious, but come on your proposal is just unrealistic.
The proposal isn't unrealistic. I don't scan the net for jobs, I consult with people who contact me because I've done business with others. Going over what they need done and designing between 10-15 products for them is very time consuming. If you think 50% is a little high, then fine stop posting. I didn't say I can't make logos myself, I just need more help. I have 3 years of photoshop under my belt, so the work is balanced and 50% is a fair share.
first off, stop thread bashing and go somewhere else.
Second, your last post makes no sense. It says in there that I will do SOME of the jobs and the others that I hire will do most of it. I don't scan the net for jobs, because I have tons of clients who email me requsting things. I search through my emails, picking out the ones that I think are most efficient and will bring in the most money.
As unfair as it may be, you're still getting paid to the job. If you feel that the pay isn't adequate, you shouldn't take the job. If you want 100% of the pay, you should find the potential clients yourself and get the job that way.
Sure, getting 50% for doing 99% of the work is unfair, but it's better than 0% because you don't have a job in the first place.
No it wouldn't be more "fair". Basically the thread starter is saying he does the sales and you do some graphic work. He has to deal with more risk in chargebacks, and has to handle all the advertising costs and other sales costs.
The key is. He does all the leg work to get clients and you just do the work reaping the rewards of his payments and not having to go chase work down.
Keep searching these forums to see all the people who need sales people, essentially he is your own salesperson. You people are shortsighted. If he is getting banners for $50 and pays you $25, take it or leave it.
Originally posted by MP Nesto Well Sigma, usually the sales person gets a small percentage of the profit made from the sale. Not 50%
according to who? I think 50% is fair for bringing in sales.. a lot of companies spend $$$$$$$ on advertising, to only bring a couple of customers in.. he is spending the money for advertising etc.. whatever his means are.
Anyways like stated above, if you don't like it then don't apply. Easy as that!
