    Lots of personal server questions

I have a personal server on a cable line for my websites. One of my friends wants cheap hosting and am going to do it. So I installed vhcs2 (on Debian Sarge 3.1), and all goes perfect. I add the user and stuff and its fine. I just don't know how to get to the site. This was a test, so I pointed it to th same domain that I have the server on.
The dns is from everydns.com. Is that ok? Do i need to setup bind to host websites?
Anyway, I cannot figure out how to go to the user's site I created. I went to troop16.us, and I get my site. Do I have to setup virtual servers?
When I installed vhcs, when I try to login into my ftp account, It goes to the home directory of the user. My server's stuff is in /var/www/ and it tries to go to /home/sevoma/. Should I change the document root to /home/sevoma/public_html?
How do I point multible domains to different sites on one ip address?

EDIT: One thing. I have the permissions wrong I think. The server runs as www-data. When you upload from a user, the data goes to <the user>. Is this okay?

    Thanks for reading this through.

Anybody know why that it doesn't work when you go to www.troop16.us, but when you go to http://troop16.us, it does work?
