Question

Any reviews about Serve Path

Any is hosted with Servepath.com based San Francisco. I am looking forward for a dedicated server hosting deal in US. I am pretty confused. The Servepath.com guys has gave me a good quote but I ain't sure how good their service is. Any comments would really help me a lot.

I considered Servepath but ultimately chose a different Data Center. First, their response time to sales emails was somewhat slow (which made me wonder how fast they'll respond to tech support questions). Secondly, their servers aren't managed (which might be fine with you but that was something I was looking for). Third, if you do a search here on WHT you'll find some information about them being blacklisted in spammer databases. Which means, you could end up with an IP address that is blocked. Not good.

Your name should give it away, Mr Rokso.

They have more than a few Spamhaus listed clients, and even a few Rokso ones. This is ongoing.

Their abuse staff is inneffective due to the "automated" abuse handling system. No other host has soo many spammy clients to need that. It detects your IP, and forwards to the server admin.

I wasn't particularly happy with their support staff, and recommended to my client to leave their service.

You are looking to sign up and spam from it?

Their IP blocks could be block by other ISP as well.

I'm not looking to Spam anyone - One of our clients had a list of less than 1000 for a community newletter, that people signed up for & confirmed their opt-in status, but we still got a few complaints, mainly from AOL. Thats how I knew about the automated handling.

I know that ServePath have a few clients listed in Spamhaus & the Rockso records.

hi

I do not intend to Spam any body and I don't belong to any of the spam gangs. Infact I am looking to host my Anti Spam servers in some IDC in US and obviously I dont want to host it with some one who supports spammers or spam gangs.

Thanks for all your inputs.

Rokso

There are many good and bad data centers / hosting providers. Do a search here on WHT.

Good luck!

yeah have been doing tht since some time know. I found HE.net interesting enough. Although there are many good reviews about gnax.com as well, photographs of their heavily wired datacenter with open racks demoralised me.

I wouldn't worry about the pictures. GNAX has one of the best reps anywhere.
