Open Transit / France Telecom de-peers with Cogent.

    Hello All

I did a search and didn't find anything on the board regarding this issue which started Friday.

From my reading it seems Cogent won't accept Open Transits routes.

    How is this affecting you??

Any traffic going to Open Transit Space from Cogent is actually going nowhere.

The issue from my understanding is due to competition and $$$.

    Here is some reading.

If your mailservers are located in cogent space, you won't be able to email open transit clients like wanadoo.

Also you won't notice the bounce back usually till the 7 day retry schedule expires the email and sends you a notice of the failed delivery.

Also since cogent recently aquired Verio's t-1 clients the issue
could become a real problem, really soon.

Cogent traffic still gets to OT. Cogent was filtering the routes for awhile but isn't anymore. Your mail will get through.
