var sidebar_align = 'right';
var content_container_margin = parseInt('350px');
var sidebar_width = parseInt('330px');
./configure -–prefix=/var/lib/mysql --with-mysqld-user=mysql
i have tried that but it tells me
configure: error: unrecognized option: -–prefix=/var/lib/mysql
but i checked mysql --help
and it saids that its ok
so what could i be doing wrong, ive searched many pages of google and wht but found no answer
if you omit the --prefix argument, it will put it in the default location (/usr/local/mysql i believe). If there is nothing wrong with this location, just leave it out and install it that way. Also, the mysql default username is mysql so you shouldn't have to specify that either.
I see, mysql is installed in /var/lib/mysql and contains all the files, if I go and compile in a different directory wont this break mysql?
Or in my case because its already installed and im upgrading would I do this
./configure --prefix=/var/lib/mysql \
because If I instal under `/usr/local/mysql' rather than the current `/var/lib/mysql'. and then make, it wont know about the previous installation.
I want to preserve the default installation but override the default location of the database directories and change them to
Well thats I have picked up so far
