Could this be real?
I just signed up for a VPS with a company I saw here through Google, and upon running more /proc/cpuinfo, I see that the cache on each processor is 4096kb!!!! IS this possible??????
Waiting for your answers,
it's probably an dual xeon server, with 2mb cache on each processor
What CPU are they technically using ?
According to Intel, the Intel Xeon MP CPU has up to about 4mb of L3 Cache.
try pasting /proc/cpuinfo here lets see what it has
I found out it's a Xeon MP with 4096k cache. I never knew they had processors with that much cache, I use a Pentium 4 with 512k and it seems like much.
If you think that's alot, you should look at the latest series of Sun's UltraSPARC's. They're 64bit with 16mb cache per processor.
Sun makes excellent units for VPS. I would love to own a couple of those.
