ThePlanet has had billing and support issues springing up for a while now. There are multiple reviews and complaints within the first few pages of this forum. EV1, on the other hand, is excellent. I've heard little about any problems with them.

EV1 is huuuuuuuge and still seems to maintain some excellent support, from what I see around these forums. That can't be said about a lot of the massive data centers, and I think that says quite a lot about the attention they give their operation.

The Planet is a pretty respectable facility but a lot of people don't seem to like their support. If you were to deal with them, I'd recommend trying to do it through LayeredTech, who's support is excellent. I personally have had an excellent direct experience with them at SAVVIS, and from what I hear they're real reliable at The Planet as well.

EV1 and The Planet are both good in my experience. I don't think you can really go wrong with either.

    I also highly recommend:

    DedicatedNOW.com
    15minuteservers.com
    superb.net
    tranxactglobal.com
    fastservers.net

    and

egihosting.com for higher bandwidth usage sites.

If Ev1 vs TP, Ev1 has my vote hands down.

EV1 by far for the moment

TP got some bad reviews and alot of complaints regarding billing/support.

I wouldent go with the ThePlanet have you seen how many topics are open on THE PLANET on this forum alone? Ev1 I would go with them I know some other great datacenters than I know can beat out EV1 but you asked for an opinion on which one is better out of them two so EV! is 100% better..

I think Theplanet is better than Ev1. We have been using them for 6 months no problem at all.

If those are your only two choices, then EV1.

Other good NOCs in the area include Colo4Dallas, Equinix, others.
