DIY hosting : A SICK Support team

I have recently purchased an account with DIY Hosting,
and my life became miserable when i first get in contact with Support team. In the beginning i thought it is because im new for them and it will be adjusted in couple of days. But i realized things getting worst over the days.

In fact they made my simple queries so complex, that i cant tell you, I just got SICK. Now im taking ADVIL to cool down my head.

    Allah Bless me !

Mind sharing a bit more info than that? What have they done that is so bad?

Sorry but your post is a bit vague on the details and if you are label a host as bad at least give a good explanation of the problems so people can judge fairly.

Paste them tickets here and share your grief with us. But, really, just give us an idea of what you mean.

Well maybe you can explain what that means. Techarks right. If you want to trash them at least back it up by giving us an example.

You can easily find my post about "My first day at DIY " started yesterday. I don't want to re-start the debate about why I was disapointed. It's clear enough in my post.
    Just wanted to support mapara.
    Sorry for the confusion.

You mean the ticket where you requested we buy you ASPMail?

Yep, I can see how us not purchasing it for you, but offering to install it once for you once you have your own license can be perceived as "sick".

ASPMail is a licensed product. We do not, nor have we ever stated that we purchase components on behalf of users, and give it to them for free.

DONT HIDE THE TRUTH. ASPMAIL IS NOT THE ISSUE NOW.

DIY is telling me to pay extra amount for ASP upload component ?

As the Pre-sales guy (Craig R.) clearly told me "ASP upload component is on all servers"

It should be there on the server pre-installed because it was the part of Reseller package as comitted by Craig R on behalf of DIY.

    IHSL,

You must bring your Pre-sales guys in training sessions.
so they msut learn what are they selling and their commitments.

After all, Intra-organization communiations must be on same wavelength. It helps

    Are you reading your tickets?

Sorry, but you really need to go back and actually read it.

I am going to break an internal policy here, and make sure this thread gets puts to rest nice and early as I am frankly just sick of seeing people pulling this kind of stunt.

Reply 1: 40 mins after you submitted the ticket:
    Hello,

There is a difference between email components being available, and you asking us to install a licensed/paid component just for your account. The sales ticket is correct; there is email components available, as is shown here: http://mach41.ihservers.com/test_mailer_components.asp

ASPUpload can be installed, but if you want to use aspmail, you will need to provide the license.
Reply 2, after you would not accept the previous response:
as already replied to in this ticket:

    1) aspupload can be installed if you wish to have it scheduled

    2) aspmail is not on the server, and your pre sales ticket does not say it is. you will need to use the email components already on the server, or buy yourself a license from the aspmail component owners.

    Mike C.
Still, you took from that, that we were asking you to pay us money (at no point was it said in the ticket), so you have the last response from us:

    Sir,

Nowhere in this ticket di anyone ask you to pay for ASPupload. I quote from 40 minutes after you submitted this ticket:

"ASPUpload can be installed, but if you want to use aspmail, you will need to provide the license."

As has been replied to five times: If you want us to install ASPUpload for you, we can install it. Nobody has asked you to pay ANYTHING for ASPUpload to be installed. If you wanted it installing, you needed only reply to the ticket with "please install it". That is all you were requested to do, from fourty minutes after you submitted the question.

I am going to ask you: PLEASE read our responses thoroughly. At no point where you ever told you could not have ASPUpload installed, nor where you asked to pay for it.

Agreed. But the fact is you both should walk away. Making your final point and then asking for it to be closed smacks of too much convenieince.

I have no sides but it really doesn't make DIY look good to be responding the way I've seen - both here and on the other thread. Just walk way and let it be closed. It does you no good but alot of bad. To openly break what you claim is an internal policy in itself is enough to leave a bad impression.

I'd also suggest the thread title is edited to reflect the actual problem.

I am unsure as to whether it's a language barrier, or just "ticket skimming" but there's no case for this thread, thus the title should reflect exactly that.

mapara, if you require assistance with the ticket, or would like an abbreviated version, please contact me at s.orourke[at]diyhosting.com

    Thank you for your comments.

The next time somebody blasts your company in public, with no factual backing, I will suggest you take the same advice.

As these are licensed products you are requesting, you will need to provide the licenses for them if you wish to have them installed.

I'm trying to relate to you how it comes across to someone who is on the sidelines and is not on your or their side. You can get defensive if you wish but yes hold me to it. If I have an internal policy and consider that there may be a language barrier as you just floated then yes I would liked to be called to walk away.
