Permissions set to root

I had to reload the contents of a client's public_html folder earlier this week, and so I logged in as root and proceeded with the task. Now, all of their permissions are kind of stuck since the content in thier webspace was created by the root user. Is there any way to change/resolve this?

Thanks

Ian

depends on what you copied, you should be able to just do cd /home2/username and then chmod everything

I seem to be getting this error:

chmod: invalid mode string: `[actual username].[actual username]'

when I perform that command.

you might want to try using

chown

rather then chmod.
