lo all.
Just wondering if anyone could please help me.

When I add a user using shell all seems fine however when i try to login to that shell account I get access denied.

I have checked the sshd_config and the user and group has been added to that yet I still can't login

I'm running FC4

Any help would be much appreciated

What shell is the newly created user being assigned? It may be getting set to something like /sbin/nologin, or a similar command. Thus, you'll need to assign the user an actual shell.

It's being assigned /bin/bash

Well thats weird even accounts that "did" have shell now havn't

Did you set a password for the users?

yeah I did...

It's getting worse too as users are getting limited control in shell and an inability to run even the simplest commands.

I think the issues are due to the kernel compile I did as other things are starting to get a little weird too.
