Should I add more memory to my server?

I got one server now stay idle at ServerMatrix, it's a P4 2.8GHz with 512MB of RAM, HDD is not the problem, I can't afford SCSI atm and I don't need too much space.

Now I'm going upgrade it to use for hosting PHP application (forums, adsman... etc)

Should I add more RAM to it, I'm thinking about upgrade it to 1GB for $150 one-time fee.

Plus, as I will clearing out the server, should I install RHEL4? Is it better than RHEL3?

Information is a bit limited here, but the move to 1GB is worthwhile for nearly all setups, especially those with SQL.

Probably worth the upgrade, but test it first you might manage without spending extra cash. $150 for an extra 512 is a bit steep.

Why's it steep? $150 buys 2 sticks of 512, one for use, and then one spare one if one ever fails.
