games on a vps

Are there any companies that allow you to run a game server on a vps and if so how much what kind of resources would you need to run say 20 slots of call of duty: united offensive?

Thanks

Most providers should let you run it but you might have trouble with the limits a VPS imposes slowing the game server down

Crazyfish,

Most providers will have no problem with a gameserver of that size running on it - it really all depends on the memory they allow you to use or any limits they have in place that would cause slowdowns.

thats what I am curious about I guess, it to find out how much resources it would use and what the cost on a vps would be to cover those resources anyone know where I could find that info out?

Crazyfish,

Each different VPS provider would have a list - or be able to tell you when you contact them via support.

You can ask them "will a call of duty server be allowed?" rather than asking them a specific memory amount, as it is going to fluctuate.
