BBC :: The Apprentice Series :: Fantastic
This is the best series I have ever seen on British television.
Quote:
|
In The Apprentice, fourteen aspiring entrepreneurs will endure rigorous tasks and compete for a hefty £100,000 job with philanthropist, Sir Alan Sugar in the longest and most exhilarating job interview ever.
|
Read the rest of the summary here -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/about_the_show.shtml
Basically, Sir Alan Sugar tests a number of business people in different tasks, one team wins, one team loses. Whichever team is deemed to have lost the task - one of them will get fired.

Have you guys enjoyed it so far?
Absolutely absorbing.
Regards
Jord

So we get an americanized "The Office" and you get a britishized "the apprentice". Funny how things work out.

The americanized "The Office" is terrible, though... that's not a fair trade!

It's an okay proggie but certainly not the best thing on TV. I wish Alan Sugar was 'sackable'... that would make it more interesting
On the same subject, did anyone in the UK catch a series on BBC2 which finished a month or two ago called The Dragons Den? That was an excellent show (info here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dragonsden/)

I beg to differ. I found the show rather amusing, though boring at some parts. Surely was the cheapest show ever made though. (Entire show takes place in the same exact place heh.) The apprentice ive always found to be interesting. Seen every episode of season 1,2 and what's happened so far on 3. I cant get enough of it!

They should make an Apprentice programme with Microsoft and Bill Gates . They could be assigned a task to see how can grow their monopoly quicker

I watched some of the US Apprentice and thought it was better than the UK one - but having said that they were very similar (even down to Alan Sugar using the same phrases etc as Donald Trump). I understand that it's done under license, but it did irritate me.
As Jim says above, Dragon's Den which was on in the same time slot as Apprentice was a really good "shout at the people on TV" show - looking forward to the new series.

I'm with you on this one Robin, the US one was much better. Alan Sugar annoys me at the best of times but I definitely can't sit down and watch a TV show with him in it ;-)
