How do i make ssh stay log in longer ?
This log me off when i transfer a big account to a new server. How do i make it stay log in longer still i done transfering ? thanks

ssh should not terminate by default. There is something else going on. Have you made sure there were no scripts controlling this and that you are not having network issues? What error do you get when it quits?

Might want to look at KEEPALIVE options in your [ssh] client.

your server is probably timing out because the transfer is maxing out CPU

i use putty to connect to ssh, when i come back and i saw messaage "Network error: Software cause connect abort". It log me off . and putty turn to inactive. I just want to make putty connect to server longer even when i am not at computer. Is this possible ?

Check your putty configuration... and Enable TCP Keepalives in the Connection settings and enter a value in the sending of null packets to keep session active...I think that will do the trick.

you mean i have to turn keepalive on in httpd.conf ?

Some servers kick me out, some don't, fact of the matter is the servers that kick me out all the time are in the same datacentre, says to me that it's a network thing.

It will yes, and the null packets are to let the server know there is someone still at the other end.
Connections do drop often though because of a bit of packet loss here and there, which is inevitable now and then with something as large as the internet.
