I have noticed a few negative comments about SagoNet in recent posts, so I thought I would add a positive one for those considering them...
The first SagoNet server that we ordered was a Supersaver celeron.. we only decided to purchase a smaller server because we wanted to seperate a specific client from our main client base, which at the time was located at ServePath.
Things ran 100%.. as the impression I had been given by Sago customers before purchasing..
About 1 week after purchasing I was then contacted by one of Sago's senior staff (via MSN) to ensure that everything was running ok, which impressed me because I had never had this 1-on-1 talk with a staff member from any previous provider.
We then ran into some problems with our server located at ServePath (which held out main client base), so we thought long and hard and decided to purchase one of Sago's better Dedicated Servers...
We spent a long night transfering all of the databases over to the new Sago server
To my dissapointment I was due to go on Vacation 1 day after the transfer to the Sago server, I knew that my business parter and staff were more than capable with dealing with the final transfer procedures although I still felt weird about going on vacation immediately after a change in provider.
I logged onto MSN 3 days into the vacation and spoke to my business partner/staff to hear that we had more than 10 positive comments about the speed of the hosting since it had been transfered.
When I returned from vacation things were as expected (awesome), until Tampa was hit by a hurricane a couple of months later.
I had serious worries as I had never had a natural disaster occur near a provider in the past, but my doubts were soon cleared up when I spoke to Jason (Sago Senior Staff member)....
YES - There was SOME downtime, Sago was running on emergency power generators for a few weeks... BUT - as soon as the hurricanes had finished we were credited with some free time at Sago which made up for the small amount of downtime we had over the previous few weeks.
Anyway... moving on from the Hurricanes, nothing bad to report (as expected).
We have since purchased several servers (on and off) for backup use and for business clients, all up to Sago's usual superb standard!
Enough of me blabbing on, this is what I rate Sago for the services that we have experienced from them
Pre-Sales: Pre-Sales: 9/10 (The forum made a nice touch as I was able to speak with some current customers about Sago)
Turnaround Time for server: 10/10 (The server was up within 24hrs with full login information)
Customer Portal: 9/10 (Bandwith tracker, Billing)
Support: 9/10 (Excellent ticketing system, emergency phone support and forum)
Upgrades: 8/10 (Upgrades go pretty smoothly, apart from a few glitch's)
Network: 9.5/10 (Excellent Network - A*)
I have been lucky enough to share my thoughts about Sago with some current customers which I found on WHT.
If your looking for a provider which offers a happy medium then choose Sago, they wont let you down -
Overall rating 9.5/10
Best of luck (not that you will need it at Sago!)
