Windows and SP2..
I know that on april 12th, windows is going to make users upgrade to sp2.. what is going to happen if u have autoupdate off.. cause i do not want sp2 at all.. its just me, i dont wanna get into it.. but like will they lock down ur computer or somethin crazy like that?

If you have autoupdate off, then it won't update to Sp2. But you will never be allowed to run the windows update w/o first installing Sp2.

Even if you have autoupdate off SP2 will be installed! All windows xp computers will have SP2 installed by the end of the month wether the owner wants it or not...

Thats not what i read, all windows xp users will have sp2 installed on there computers, forget where i read it but it was a reliable source

All you gotta do is add this line to your host file:
127.0.0.1 microsoft.com
This should block MS from your computer..........

I've never had a problem with any updates or service packs.
I was also in the SP2 beta since December of 2003 and haven't had a single problem with it yet.

Only reason i installed SP2 is i formatted and if anything went wrong, i wasent going to lose anything anyway.
