If you have autoupdate off, then it won't update to Sp2. But you will never be allowed to run the windows update w/o first installing Sp2.

Simply not true. It will be offered as an update, but not automatic.

What about the ones that aren't connected to the internet? Is microsoft going to personally pay you a visit and force the SP2 update on your computer? lol

If they aren't on the net, they don't need SP2.

All you gotta do is add this line to your host file:

    127.0.0.1 microsoft.com

This should block MS from your computer..........

It's filthy. I installed SP2 on my mothers computer. She never had so many problems in her life.

I'll stick with Service Pack 1 as long as I can.

  15. each time i install a windows update, something on my computer goes bye bye

I've never had a problem with any updates or service packs.

I was also in the SP2 beta since December of 2003 and haven't had a single problem with it yet.

To test this, simply try going to www.microsoft.com after adding this entry (I think you'll be happy)
