Hello fine WHT folk,

Just wondering if any of you have had a good experience or recommendation for a VPS intended for a game server.

I want to run a Counter-Strike Source linux server for about 10-12 players minimum. I'm not sure, but I think ~ 50GB should be enough for that, maybe a little more.

Any recommendations for a cheap, fast VPS that I can just install, run, and maintain a single game server on? I just want bandwidth, a few gigs of storage, root, and an IP. No need for WHM/CPanel/etc.

I'm spending $40/mo. for 100GB and CPanel/WHM, and lots of other goodies. I would love to score something for around $20-30 tops. Most game server are about $30 per month, but I'd rather do it myself if I can save a few dollars, plus have control over everything.

You should get a dedicated server if your intending on using it for gaming. A low-mid end spec should work

So you're saying that a VPS couldn't handle a single 12-player CS server?

I am not saying that it cant, but most VPS providers dont allow it. Also those games are big on resources, which will dramatically slow it down the server, which would not be worth the money you would save, IMO
