Of course. Even the looks, and functionality is better, then you got your exploits in OE. I always like to think of how Half Life 2 was released, whenever I open OE up. But that was a long time ago indeed, but TB for me all the way!

I use the default sound my self for Outlook 2003. I'll have to give Thunderbird a look at.

Why would you really want to change the sound for an incoming email anyways? Notting that really fits it at all, just a normal "ding" is good enough, or less of course you want it to say "You've got Mail" like that crap AOL does. :-P

I use both ThunderBird and Outlook 2000.
I think ThunderBird is easier to use, more stable, and more secure than Outlook. Thats why I use it as the mail program for running my web hosting business. I keep ThunderBird running all the time.

I also use Outlook 2000 for checking a personal e-mail account.
I use it because it loads fast and to separate my business e-mails from personal ones. Also since I have a Pocket PC I use outlook to back-up/update my tasks, schedule, notes, and phone-book.
