What would you do?

Hello

I have recently had a new client sign up to one of our reseller packages. Has has added some strange paypal and ebay domains to his account.

With all the ebay-paypal scams around, im not sure as of what i should do. Do i just cancel his account? the domains are just index files so far.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

When you mean ebay/paypal domains, do you mean that the addresses contain ebay or paypal in them? Any chance of trademark infringement regarding this?

Yes, they contain the term ebay and paypal.

The credit card details and all went though ok.

I will look into the trademark terms with the domains.

What do you mean, "they contain the term ebay and paypal."

Like, ebay-talk.com?

Or, upate-ebay-account.com?

If the latter; just remove him now and be done with it.

intek,

Sounds like you have a touchy topic on hand. I would attempt to contact the user to find out his true intent of these sites. I would also monitor him very closely.

If for any reason you have a gut feeling that something is not right... drop his account into suspension status and/or delete it if necessary. He may very well just be using it as a way to show he does business via ebay or paypal... just deleting him right off may not be the best idea. Read the logs carefully and possible request from him proof of his little paypal/ebay business venture.

Best of luck.

Just out of curiousity... what country is his IP tracing back too? If it is a country known for scaming turn it off asap. I had a customer like this a year ago. He was located in Nigeria which is a high scam conflict zone

What do the index pages contain? If they contain copies of ebay/paypal login pages, then drop him.

Hello

His account was indeed a paypal spoof site. His account has been deleted.

The domains in question were
ebay-bill.com
paypail.net
paypalz.net
viethost4you.com

I will report this gentlemen to both Ebay and paypal. He was from Vietnam, probably a stolen credit card. If not he is very stupid.

Thanks for the help.
