Anyone have a list of the more established companies in 111 8th avenue?
Also, do they offer suites?
Is there a direct office where I can contact the building managmenet or a company we can lease a few cabs from in there

Here is building management's website: http://www.nyc-connect.com/
They should be able to assist you further. Purchasing a suite in that building is going to be really expensive. Cabinets alone are over $1000/mo and cross connects between suites are around $800/mo.

I see the only viable offerings would be NScNAP or Level3

Not to knock NSCNAP, but I don't think they are more "established" or "viable" than any of the many tier-1 carriers who have co-location space available in 111 8th Ave.

111 8th Ave is huge. I guarentee you that there are far more carriers than ourselves and LVLT.

a 3000 sq ft office you are looking at $8000 a month in that building or for the most part anywhere in NYC.

3k sq ft office in some parts of Manhattan arnt close to 8k Some are much cheaper some are much pricier but I get the point .... although 111 8th is in Chelsea and prices for space there isn't exactly that expensive. I'm thinking. Can I get a fiber line into a loft in Chelsea from 111 8th? Obviously the room would draw lots of power and would be cooled heavily but is that doable?

Someone snagged the info out of my previous posting about the building management/MMR, but *********** is going to fire up a pop in that building in about a month, and they can get you good pricing in there.

I just found out that InterNAP snagged the entire 6th floor in that building. I guess the next question is - get spacing from L3 or NAP

Give TelX and Telehouse a Look
111 8th is great, but its not very carrier neutral in that the data suites are generally controlled by single carriers, and connections between suites are nightmarishly expensive.
Check out TelX ( www.telx.com) at 60 Hudson Street. Lots of transit choices there and the cross-connects are reasonably priced.
Also, Telehouse ( www.telehouse.com) at 25 Broadway is worth a look. If I remember correctly, Telehouse charges one-time install fees, but no monthly recurring fees for cross-connects.
In both places, though, rack/cabinet space ain't cheap!
