VPS providers ... my final list

Hello Guys/Gals,

Based on my research and your feedbacks, I have a final list of VPS providers that I am interested in signing up. However, I do need your opinion before I invest and start this business.

1. servint - heard a lot of good things abt this provider

2. myriadnetwork - although their vps offering is new, i am really intrigued in their 100% uptime guarantee and they seem to have fairly good rep

3. powervps - they upgraded their servers and claim to have the fastest disk io in the market

4. hostforweb - very responsive to my questions and datacenter is located locally (chicago)

They all seem to have the basic requirements for the business. I would like your feedbacks regarding their SUPPORT and DESIRE to help small businesses to succeed. What do you think???

Many thanks,
Marl

I don't know #4, but I think you can't go wrong if you pick 1, 2 or 3.

Cheers,

1-2-3 are all great companies but I am unfamiliar with #4. If you want really top notch, professional, fast, turbo charged vps and what I believe is the best support team in the world...Go with servint and I think you will never live to regret it.

I can only say that Powervps Rocks, for me their staff is 100%.

Servint also have good reviews, but i don´t know, never been there.

I recommend powervps or defender (it´s the same)

Marl, I've been researching for myself as well. 1-2-3 also make up my short list, so I think we are on the right track. All three seem to have good reviews and all three have done a great job at getting back to me with informative answers.

I did see a difference in speed as they switch me from an old server to a newer server with RAID10 from RAID5. But then again the Dual AMD Opteron 250 from Dual Xeon 2.8ghz could have been a factor. My VPS is faster then before, not just visually but response times are around for siteuptime is around 0.2 from 1.2 on the old server.

Defender is a great company to do business with they have a great support team with Charles and Tom seemly NEVER sleeping. I get support questions answered in 10mins of posting in help desk, EVEN at night around 1 or 2AM.

We use 1, 2 and 4.

Servint: rock solid hosting, reck solid support. Their good reputation is deserved.

Myriadnetwork: Obviously we haven't been with them very long, as their VPS offering seems to be quite new. However, guess what? Yes, they have delivered 100% up time so far, and the speed seems quite good.

Hostforweb: Been with these for a long time, and had no problems at all.

From the evidence we have here, I doubt that you would have any problems with any of these.

PowerVPS has been great so far for us. I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a VPS package.

Plus they offer a lot of free software to boot. So you can't really beat that deal.

Servint are a hell of a company, they would certainly be my pick. Great product but more important even then that is a talented professional staff, its not a case of a couple of good staff up all night, its a full compliment of experts on hand 24 7.

If the reviews are great for all 1, 2, and 3 then try looking at

1. what SLA they could offer
2. what infrastructure they have
3. what tools they could offer
4. how competitive is their price
5. what additional benefits they offer

That's a good point Brannix.

You've got to weigh the pros and cons for each provider and then decide from that. The list has been created and the users have spoken, it's time for the user to make the choice from here.
