how do i know which user runnig BT on my server?

hi all

i have a question, one of my servers is facing some problems, it consumes about 7M more bandwidth after i added one user. later i found out this user provide BT download links to his forum visitors.

i've used ps -aux and found nothing related to BT process, so i've no evidence to ask him to stop. i want to know how can i stop ppl doing BT download from my server? this has caused my server unstable recently.

Thanks.

BTW, BT download is consider as outgoing or incoming traffice?

i also have APF firewall installed, and all BT ports are not opened, was the increasement of bandwidth usage really caused by BT?

I am not sure on all the trackers but they might be using mysql for the tracker. You do not need any extra ports open it can run under the normal apache. Most trackers require some sort of a background process but maybe this one did not.

You are saying 7 megabytes more, if that is the case that is almost no bw or are you talking 7mbit continous usage? If that is the case again that is much mroe then BT would take since the files are hosted elsewhere.
