Hello
I search good place for my new project.
I need
Dual Xeon 2.8Ghz
4GB RAM
2 x 73GB SCSI (RAID 1 Hardware)
FreeBSD
20 mbit unmetered.
If anybody knows good company to go with them please advise.
Also cheap price is desirable

Check with the planet. Not sure if they are still selling 20mb unmetered server though.

They have suspended marketing it for now since their current pipes are pretty full and the new ones are not in yet.

thanks for clearing that up. Figured since the pipes have been full for awhile they would of turned up more circuits.

From what I understand, they ordered the new pipes early last month but Cogent hasn't delivered those yet so now all they have to do is wait. They do have two additional 2 pipes in the new datacenter so we probably just have to wait for it to open.

What is the approximate budget for the project?
I do not think you can get the above mentioned server specs and bandwidth for cheap price.

You can get a 50mbit unmetered for around the $700 range.

Email Hivelocity.net for a custom quote. Their base unmetered 20Mbps package is only $179, so upgrading to the hardware you need will most likely keep you within budget.

That's a pure cogent bandwidth though. You must meet good bandwidth with your server, else its useless when the link is down while your server can do mad cow stuff

Actually HiVelocity uses UUNet as a backup when Cogent is down.
