Number of ServInt VPS's

Someone recently accussed ServInt of lying when they said they have 1,000 VPS customers so I decided to investigate.

VPS's appear to be in the SERVINT-CIDR-3 block of IPs at ripe, from 207.58.128.0 - 207.58.191.255.

Here I found 308 VPS and I attach a list to this post with the IPs. If you're a ServInt VPS customer who frequents these boards let me know if your IP's not on the list, but it should be.

They all use Virtuozzo (obviously) so you can check them by visiting h t t p :/ / IP:4643

Thank you, I've tried most but not all of those blocks. I'll post a final total shortly.

Ok in the VPS IP range above from 216.22.21.0 - 216.22.61.255 I found another 63 VPS, giving a total of 371 VPS. NB: This is well short of 1,000!

If I find any more in the other blocks I'll update the tally.

I estimate this is about 25 machines setup as VPS hostnodes.

I'm not sure about ServInt's IP blocks, but they might also have ones under other names, or even under their upstream providers blocks, so these stats won't be very accurate.

I went through every regular on here who had a VPS at servint and they all showed up on my list, but true so if someone from ServInt wants to post onto this thread to explain where the remaining 700 odd VPS's are asap, then that'll explain things. Nice website faq's btw.

ServInt has been in business for over 10 years now. What gain would they get by lying about the number of VPS they have? They don't publicize the number anyway...

75 servers cost a lot more and would be a much bigger business than 25. I don't know why they would lie either so hopefully they will assist in answering this mystery at present.

, I can tell you exactly how many of those VPS are plesk, cPanel or neither also.

Actually I found another 113 in the 216.22.0.0 - 216.22.63.255 block so that's 484 and still counting.

ServInt doesn't only do VPS hosting, they have a large managed dedicated server business. Why does the size of their operation matter to you? I've only heard good things about Reed and his team at ServInt.

Trying to disprove that ServInt has 1000 vps clients when they have no reason to lie, and wouldn't lie if they had a motive to, is a pipe dream.

vpstalk, the fundamental way you are trying to figure out the number of VPS' is flawed. There are a lot of reasons you would not pick up all the VPS' as per the method you described.

Also, ServInt would have no reason to lie. I have heard nothing but good reviews regarding their service, and they have a very good reputation.

Yeh you'd need also to divide the number of IPs you found by 2 or whatever other number of IPs ServInt issues per VPS, to find the true number of customers.

207.58.137. is Servint vps network.
Anyway, Servint forum have more than 1000 registered users, and every registered user is a different customer (registration is activated by Servint, and only for vps customers).
