allmanaged VS servermatrix

I'm looking for a new dedicated server and have shortlisted my choice to either allmanaged or servermatrix.

Both of these companies have positive feedback, comparable prices, and are advertised as managed solutions.

I'd like to know how their managed solutions compare. From my understanding, allmanaged installs a firewall, secure, harden and optimize the servers. Servermatrix appears to offer more limited support.

Also, how do their networks compare in terms of speed and reliability? Servermatrix has a better uptime guarantee at 99.9% as opposed to allmanaged's at 99.5% but, does their network reflect this better guarantee.

Any help would be appreciated. I will be installing FreeBSD on this server and do have experience managing a dedicated server.

Thank you,

David Delisle

the uptime guarantee isn't much of an important factor. I think allmanaged is 100% SLA. They pretty much do everything for you on the server, install other scripts upon request. I've reached my full 100mbit before easily, adding savvis to the mix soon.

WebBloom,

I think the best solution will be search around WHT for feedback regarding both of them and make the comparison analysis.

So far I have yet to hear anything bad about Allmanaged / Sagonet. If you are willing to pay a little more, allmanaged should be a wiser option

Thanks for your comments. They were very helpful.

Maxo, I have looked at previous posts on WHT and this is why I had very specific questions regarding the two providers. It is sometimes difficult to just go on what others say or recommend because they aren't comparing similar products or services.

From my experience with WHT, the most recommended provider is quite often the cheapest. Price is definitely a factor in my decision but, I don't mind paying a little more for better quality.

I am leaning towards allmanaged. Their Sago network has had good reviews and they seem to be fully managed (or very close to it).

My only major worry with allmanaged is that they are relatively new. Servermatrix has had consistently high reviews for quite awhile whereas allmanaged is the new kid on the block (if you don't include Sago's track record).

Thanks again,

David

Allmanaged.com servers are housed in the same data center as Sago. I read that there will be a new support team. Also, they use Dell for the new dedicated servers
