I am needing a database driven shopping cart. I really don't want to have one created from scratch, but don't want a cruddy looking one either.

Here is the situation: Client gets to choose items they want to purchase. First/Initial purchase is higher to cover a variety of expenses, but duplicates are at a much lower price. Cart needs to know if the client has already purchased said item once -- if so, to NOT use the initial price. If they have not, the cart needs to use the higher price.

Make sense? Any options out there? Some customization is not a problem. But I don't really want to go from scratch.

Go for osCommerce. Lots of features, 3rd party mods, large community support and open source too.

Since osCommerce has built-in CRM system, this should be easy to customize. If you search for the 3rd party mods, you may even find someone has already found a solution.

What is it that you are selling. Tangible goods, digital goods, services etc? There are different options for different requirements.

Selling photographs. Taken as a photographer.

Will do a search for osCommerce and see what is available.

if you haven`t this money, use oscommerce. because its free
