Fowarding Email

Hi all,

I have a dedicated server, and I have a couple of domains hosted on it.

I will shortly be changing the name of one of my domains, and I have a question with regards to forwarding email.

I have Hivemail installed which is a web-based email application that my members use to send and receive emails. The applications uses a Cron Job to catch all emails sent to a non-POP3 account.

When I transfer everything to the new domain, I also want to move Hivemail, but as this is not hosted under the original domain, none of the mail will reach the recipients.

My questions is, is it possible to get the emails forwarded from the old domain to the new domain, but keep the original intended recipient so the new domain is able to dish the emails out to the intended recipient?

I am able to setup Hivemail to use more than one domain so that is not a problem.

The server is running cPanel / WHM if that helps.

Cheers for your help,
Craig.

How many accounts do you have setup under hivemail? You could write a quick bash or perl script which for each email account would create a forwarder.

To create a forwarder with a cPanel/WHM server you do something like the following:
echo receiving@domain.com: forwardedto@forwardedtodomain.com >> /etc/valiases/domain.com
