I need a host for a VPS. I need cpanel/WHM, rvskin (bonus).
My budget is under $50. Can anyone point me in the direction. I want the best for my buck. I dont need high class support as i know my way around. But they must have good uptime and be reputable. Thanks.

ServInt in my opinion offers the best VPS product even if you don't need the management. They're stable in all areas, and if you ever do need any help, they're available.
LiquidWeb has also joined in the bandwagon for offering the VPS product. While I don't have any experience with that product offering, I do have experience with their dedicated line and if they're similiar in any fashion, it's gotta be good.

Hi Guys,
I'm new to VPS, is it possible to share a VPS with somebody on the net? I don't want to go with shared web hosting, because there is too much limitation (I need to host mulitple domains). It seems with VPS I can install any software I need, this brings to much flexibiliity for me. Actually I don't need so much resource, what I need is:
1) Tomcat 5.5.4 installation
2) Mysql 4.x installation
3) JDK 1.5 installation
That's all I need, then I can configure things to run my java web apps, is there somebody who has VPS service and want to share part of resource with me? I really don't need much resource.
Thank you
Eric

Actually, we have been offering VDS/VPS accounts for years. We just switched our offerings to Virtuozzo in 2005.

You'll be having me as a new client in the near future. Was nearing to Servint. But after a post from LW and better pricing, you got me

I have been on Liquidweb's $60.00 VPS plan going on a month now and I must say that they have been nothing less than fantastic in support response times. I had a lot of tickets that were not neccessarily technical problems, but rather questions I had like running a php accelerator on the account. Most were answered within an hour-sometimes within minutes!
Zac has been especially helpful and stayed in touch with me on various questions that I had.
Granted, we are not running especially intensive apps, but we have our share of message boards and image galleries, and performance has been dependable and more than acceptable so far.

I am using The Domain Name Center (url below). I have been using their VDS plans and have had great success. I think they are a GoDaddy reseller, and while I have read good and not so good reports in some of the forums about GoDaddy, I for one can say that I am a happy customer.
I can't add the URL...I guess I am too new. Just type in "The Domain Name Center" all in one word and .com
Regards,
Darryl

Every VPS provider will have a different policy.
You would have to check the each provider's website, or call them, and you should be able to find out the answer to that question.
Just an FYI, Virtuozzo + CPanel should take up approx 700MB of diskspace.

You may want to try HostAway.net. I just signed up with them yesterday, so my recommendation doesn't mean much, but so far I have neem very satisfied. They have a 30 day money back guarantee, so you can test them out first.

I run a development server at tektonic.net ($50/mPlan) and it handles the tomcat & postgres properly.
Depending on the load on the server, you may still be better off with a full dedicated server
