Sending money to an new international Paypal member- limit?

Hi:
I just bought a laptop computer from someone in Taiwan, and she wants to be paid via Paypal. She's a new Paypal member (Taiwan). Is there a limit on the amount I can send her at once, or do I need to do this incrementally?

thanks,

I think there is only a sending limit but not for receiving.

I think some account types (e.g. Personal accounts) may be subject to a Receiving limit. If you send a payment to someone who cannot yet receive it, it may show a status of "Unclaimed" in your transaction History.

If you are making this purchase through eBay, you may want to check for the PayPal Buyer Protection seal before sending payment.

I think she has a Personal account. This is a direct transaction- not going through eBay. So what should she do/ wait to get the receiving limit lifted?

Thanks,

A Receiving Limit on a Personal account may only be able to be lifted through an upgrade to a Premier or Business account. Ask her to View Limits on her Account Overview and see if she is subject to any Receiving Limits.

Because this purchase will not be eligible for the PayPal Buyer Protection program (which I believe is currently only available on eBay), you may want to ensure that you are sending the money to a Verified PayPal account. However, as this is a non-US account, be aware that the account holder would probably need to complete the Expanded Use process in order to become Verified, and that may cause some delay. You may also need to be Verified in order to complete the payment if it exceeds your Sending Limit.
