Whats Decent Bandwidth?

I think I may be starting a dedicated server business here pretty soon; not re-selling, but more co-location, and purchasing our own stuff. It wont be for awhile (like a few months) but im starting to think of plans and such that would work out good. I was trying to figure at least 1500Gb of Bandwidth per server each month, but do you think thats too much or what? I'm really thinking our prices could be low... Like for example, this is what im thinking for a basic package:

Dual Xeons 2.8Ghz w/ HT
2Gb of RAM
10mbps Connection
1000Gb of BW
And some other basic stuff..
This running at maby $199/month or something..

I'm not sure though, if i gave more bandwidth id have to charge more.. im just not sure what all i hshould offer.. help? thanks!

If you increase the bandwidth you could probably charge $250/month for that machine. It seems like a good deal with the high ram.

Hi zhsprovider,

Your pricing and bandwidth plans will be dictated by your Target Audience that you are trying to target.

Are you trying to go for the budget market or ?

The premium market?

Prices also depend on what you charge for a setup and what other services you offer. Backup off site?

It's all about where you want to profit with your margins. You can choose hardware, bandwidth, services, etc. Pricing is the key to every business so first decide which niche you want to enter. You should be able to handle the rest afterwards as long as you do your comp analysis.

It all depends on how much you are paying for bandwidth. You don't want to sell yourself short.
