How Can I Update Kernel?
Hi all,
I need ask you about update kernel
How can I know if my kernel in my server is good or not ??
If not good how can I upgrade it without any problem ...
my expirencie is not high in servers wrold
Can any one help me?

I would suggest that if you need to ask this question, you should approcah your supplier or a management company to do this for you.

I agree somewhat, playing with the kernel on a live server is never a good idea unless you know what your doing.
If you wish to proceed anyway we need some more information. First what linux distribution are you using (ie Redhat9, CentOS etc). Next what is the output of this command:
uname -r

Me think there is a smple way for the novice too, but on a ruuning production servers, it can be really dangerous.
You can simply download the .rpm kernel that is suitable for your system and then install it. Dont forget to change the default boot option in the boot loader.ESC :wq!
