You will find a very low percentage of those who'll be interested in paying for your service. It won't drive that much of traffic as you think. It's simple, free customers like to remain free customers. just as ozone_mark said. But no doubt, a very low percentage (from the free customers base) could be attracted to your new paid hosting.

Everyone has the potential for the success, the people who realise that will get the success. I mean to say is that you do not need to spend single dime on these billing softwares and credit card processing stuff. I have few resources that i am currently using for my own business who give me most of these services at very minimal cost. These people do not ask a lot at the same time they do not advertise to get business. They are a supporting group that exist to support and they just get the minimal charges to support their network. They do not look to this entity for money, they have already made money in their business.

Mod_layout could maybe help you with making all sites on the server or specific one have some ads at the bottom

^ have u got any examples on the use of Mod_layout , i searched for it but it seems like a old project and there ain't much info about it.
