Recommend a host please
I am looking to move from my current shared server to a dedicated server but after going through the advertising forum I am dizzy with the number of offers and I am no closer to deciding on a company so I would like to ask for recommendations from fellow forumites of suitable companies to meet my needs.
My requirements are as follows:
Dual CPU (CPU speed not so important but should at least 2Ghz - dont want Celerons or equivalent though)
2GB RAM
18GB HDD (SCSI preferred, faster the better - also may want RAID 1)
100GB bandwidth per month (prefer quality bandwidth)
Linux OS
CPanel (MAY consider other mainstream control panels but prefer CPanel as its what I use now)
Semi-managed service (just need someone to make sure the OS and apps are up and secure and apply patches and security updates etc)
Must allow legal adult sites (not porn sites, I sell adult products)
Ideally located in Europe but US is fine if speed is acceptable (but not the UK due to our wonderful laws !!)
Budget: $250 per month (I hope thats realistic )
The main things for me are speed and reliability - this is an ecommerce site with quite large image files so the site speed is critical.
Can anyone recommend a company / companies who can meet my requirements?
Many Thanks
Jason

For a server with SCSI drives, your budget is a bit low, not to mention management. For that price, it is unlikely that you will get the quality product that you are interested in. Depending on your fincancial situation, I would consider settling for lesser hardware or increasing your budget to get a quality provider.

If you don't mind some setup fee's , allmanaged.com can help you with a awesome dual 3.06 xeon for around that price.
It won't be SCSI, but it'll be SATA, so it's still very fast. They're located in florida, and i've pulled ~600KB/sec to france.

I'd recommend http://steadfastservers.com/
The issue - like everyone else says is SCSI for that same amount. Managed is no problem but SCSI for less than 300 a month isn't happening (along 'with' managed)

As someone else said, the planet has something that fits the hardware side of that.
Also, gnax has something pretty close. It won't be managed and you'll have to put down about ~$400 setup to upgrade the RAM and the second drive to SCSI:
Dual Opteron 242 with SCSI
+NEW PRODUCT+ $269/month Free
1 GB RAM (ECC Registered)
73 GB SCSI Hard Drive
80 GB Hard Drive
2000 GB Transfer/month
Remote APC Reboot

i think, this is your choice.
