iptables module :(


Hello Guys ,
I wanna to tell you that about my last problem that my server has been formated and i lose all my data now i have a new problem when i try to put any new iptables rule it's showing me that

lsmod: QM_MODULES: Function not implemented

Unable to load iptables module (ip_tables), aborting.

or if i try to power up APF or KISS firewall's so what i can do now to fix this problem ?

In apf, try enabling this MONOKERN="0"

Dear thelinuxguy ,
I have try to use KISS and APF and try to add manully rules but it's showing same
after i do like you told me i see this root@server1 [/usr/bin]# apf -r
Development mode enabled!; firewall will flush every 5 minutes.
lsmod: QM_MODULES: Function not implemented

root@server1 [/usr/bin]#
and the rules add so i don't need to have a problems i need the fix of my problem please ... im not trust with this way because it's continue showing the error

The issue is related to your kernel not supporting iptables as a module have you tried setting MONOKERN="0" as MONOKERN="1" in the apf config?

yes and it's add rules but it's seems continue showing error i use up2date too see if there a new kernel and i see this
root@server1 [/etc]# up2date -l
root@server1 [/etc]# rhn_register
root@server1 [/etc]# up2date -l

Hrmm redhat 9... Redhat 9 is EOL, that kernel is out of date and vulnerable to a few exploits.

RH9 does have Iptables in its Kernel...?

BTW, you also have 2.4.x kernel. so Iptables should be there if you have not compiled the kernel seperately. Make sure that Iptable daemon is running on your server.

You best bet is going to be to compile a 2.4 kernel for the system. There are a few guides about doing this on WHT.
