Could anyone reccomend software (preferably free) that will create a html site map for me?

Doing it by hand is the best, and doing it by hand (HTML) would be the best. Macromedia DreamWever and Microsoft FrontPage does both.

Hmm dreamweaver is no good. My pages are coded in php and dreamweaver ignores include coments. Which means only 3 pages will show.

Any software that spiders a website on the client side of things?

I very much doubt you will find something like that free. But why not just do it by hand? And DreamWeaver doesn't "ignore" comments. And I'm not following you anymore?

well include is not a comment but a statement.

eg
include('header.php');
include('footer.php');

those are pages which contain links to my other documents. That is why i need something client side
