Legalitys behind an adult forum

I need to know where I can get advice or read up on setting up forums with an adult nature.

Users would be given the opportunity to upload an image with each post.

How can I implement a system that verifys all models are over 18?

Any ideas?

The forum would just have 1 adult forum section like is seen on a few other websites..

Presumably a registration agreement doesn't protect me that much. Or does it?

Credit Card age verification?
Copy of birth certificate?

Go on other adult forums / sites and you may get a better feeling for the whole thing...

Hope this helps..

Hey George,

If your content is coming from a verified supplier, then they'll supply you with individual certificates for each model.

You can't verify it any other way really. If you're just copying & pasting from sites, then you can't guarantee it, but you can assume that if they're displaying their "All models were over 18 at the time that the photos were taken" license, then they all were.

But still, copyrights are there to prevent you from doing this. Unless you paid for the royalties to use the models, then you're breaking the law.

If you are giving users the oportunity to upload images the only possible way is to require a verification certificate before the images go live.

ok.

i was planning on having users upload their own images they may have taken for which they own the copyright.

I was also planning on having users upload photos they had found on the web.

Looks like I need to contact a lawyer on this one!

I guess all the other sites that have an adult section or even let users upload photos are breaking some copyright laws somewhere.

I really need a good reference site or advice from a lawyer.

Plus I would have to adhere to US laws as thats where my server is an UK law as thats where my permant residence is. hmmm, this is a tricky situation

If you just let your users upload pictures like that, you will get in trouble.

Furthermore you will become a very bad reputation in the Adult industry, they don't like people / webmasters doing this.

But try to ask for this on some Adult BBS they will love to advice you in this matter.
