Hard drive crash?

About 12 days ago I orderred a server from Managed.com to host a few big websites on it. After some issues with the cPanel license, I finally got my server after 5 days.

A few days later, I received the following email from cPanel on that server:

IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
You should backup all the data on the hard drives listed below and replace
them as
soon as possible.
S.M.A.R.T has detected that they are not peforming within
normal operating
paramaters.

Excessive ATA Errors on disk /dev/hda. Please consider replacing this
drive. Some
Errors may be normal due to not 100% compatible IDE controllers and may be
ignored.

The server has been down for 4 days now. Within those 4 days I posted 2 tickets and Managed doesn't respond to them

Does this mean the hard drive has to be replaced?

Pfffffffffft

Thanks

Doesn't sound good. Depending on how bad things are you could ask them to remount the old HDD and use lftp to copy things over to another server/HDD.

never used them myself - do they have a refund period? Have you read their TOS regarding hardware failures? I sure would hesitate to stick with them as who knows how serious something like this would be once you have data.
