Question about Norton Internet Security

When I click on Internet Explorer to go on the internet, a balloon at the bottom of my screen appears saying that Norton Internet Security is turned off. Why? How can I fix it.

I am thinking of switching to Zone Alarm and only having Norton Anti-Virus. Any comments. Can I uninstall the other parts of Norton and only have the Anti-Virus.

What do you think of Norton Password Manager?
