COLO special

We are offering a special that includes one cabinet (45U) and 35MBPS fixed connection.

If you need more space for your servers let us know.

The price for all of this is $7,875 and a 2 year term.

That works out to $225 per Meg with a free cabinet.

If you have any questions please e-mail tim@multipleimage.com

it is long term but it is a very good price. The major uplink providers are Sprint and Level3. Qwest will be added soon.

TomK, uhhh, he said 8k/mo, not 3k/mo, BIG difference. Also, whats the difference between cogent bandwidth and his, i mean quantitative, and dont try to sell me on uptime, cuz i don't buy it :p. It still sends the same amount, recieves the same amount, for webhosting, the data arrives in an acceptable amount of time, and cogent has 99.99% uptime, so whats the big deal?

I'm not saying that maybe $225/mb isn't good, but in that quantity for that amount of time, it doesen't seem very appealing to me, thats all. For all we know, in 2 years time, cogent will have revolutionized the market, and will be one of the more expensive carriers in a market of DWDM capable fiber carriers who all have the same idea as Cogent has put into place now.

And Jaygate, AFAIK yipes charges less, i might be wrong though

I didn't say "two from cogent, one from yipes" i said 2 feeds, not three. And no, Cogent wouldn't give you rack space for that, but for the extra 1.8K you could surely find a rack and power. Stating that cogent will pay the piper may well be correct, but thats not an arguement that their bandwidth is "low quality", if they shutdown, that sucks, but at least we'll take advantage of it while we can. Point of it is, their bandwidth for webhosting companies will give you the same result as any other bandwidth in general, im not saying they will/won't go under, i honestly don't know, i just think that bandwidth over the years hasn't grown at the same rate that everything else computer related has, and sooner or later that has to change, and IMHO cogent is playing a role in that.

And no, im not trying to crap on this thread .

Yes. But those are not the best carriers.

Plus, Cogent BW doesn't compare (quality wise) to what he has in this offer, when will you folks understand that? And what do you do next year when Cogent closes down?

Not everyone can offer 3gazillion GB of bandwidth on questionable hardware and 7/24 support from 9-5, for 39 cents a month.

I'm hoping some intelligent people still exist looking for quality hardware and quality bandwidth, quality support, and willing to pay more then 42 cents a month for it.

You get what you pay for.

I couldnt of said it better.

first of all

First of all you cant get yipes for less then 200.00/mbps and to get even close to 200.00/mbps you have too buy a ton of bandwidth from them.

Furthermore why the heck are you guys even commenting on this guys advertisement. THERE IS NO NEED for you people to chime in on whether this special is a good deal or not, which in my opinion it is.

If hes false advertising then thats one thing otherwise unless its positive comments, imho a adv. thread is not a place for competitors and hosts to comment on whether a special is good or not.

Thank You.

I've heard you can get Yipes at $195 per Mbps with a 45Mbps commitment. I've personally been quoted $256 per Mbps at 15Mbps. That was some time ago, however.

I agree - the bashing is not necessary. $225 per Mbps for those providers isn't bad, especially with a free cabinet.

numbers

ehh yipes is pushy, they don't want less than $250/meg, you can get it cheaper if it's the end of the month, and sales are slow.

Our yipes prices are closer to $200 than $300 (about all I can say after signing that NDA. )

BTW, not a bad deal. Free cabinet and power would be worth at least $1200 (retail or whatever).

$7,875
- $1200
------------
$6675

$6675
/ 35
------------
$190.71

$190.00 per meg of Yipes bw that generally is directly connected to level 3.

Level 3 bw at $190/meg? Hard to compete with that.
